The Shifting Spaces of Safety Model, is a 24 page clinical resource, to support parents and carers through a neuro-affirming, visual, and responsive model to facilitate the pathway to growing their child or teen's capacity.

This resource is able to be adapted to meet the unique needs of each family. It allows the practitioner to visually present and guide the client using templates and includes a worked example. The process will build their confidence on when and how to stretch and support their loved one out of their comfort zone to facilitate capacity building in response to their child or teen's current state of safety.

This adaptable and reusable resource is suited for parents and carers of neurodivergent children or teens who fit the PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance or Persistent Demand for Autonomy) profile or those with heightened nervous systems.

The responsiveness of the model is perfect to use with those parents and carers who feel stuck or in a rut with their parenting, or they feel their child or teen needs further support to grow their capacity, want to know what comes next and how to implement it in a neuro-affirming way.
